About This Blog

What You Can Expect From This Blog:

I wanted to use this blog as a place to discuss the following topics:

  • User Experience (UX) - Anyone who does business on the web or builds interactive products and services (entrepreneur, designer, marketer, restaurant owner, whatever) has to be keenly aware of their customers’ desires, problems, motivations and behaviors.  I hope to explore this topic here and share what I’ve learned and am continuing to learn.
  • The Entrepreneurship Experience (EX) - Entrepreneurship is one of the most exciting career paths one can take.  It’s also extremely draining on your life, emotions, health and wallet.  However, for some there’s just no other way to live.  I like to think I’m one of those people and I’ll try to post my thoughts and links to various resources on the topic.
  • Marketing Experience (MX) - I’ve worked in sales and marketing organizations for the last 10 years.  I’ve primarily been a cold calling stock broker but for the last 5 years I’ve been diving down the “direct response marketing rabbit hole”  (you know, the inserts you see in magazines and long-form copy landing pages).  More than anything expect links to articles, resources and books on this topic.
  • Other Experience (OX) - Intertwined with posts, links and graphics on design and entrepreneurship I’m sure I’ll have a ton of random posts in here as well.  Everything ranging from marketing to finance to my weird interest in anything Asian.  I’ll do my best to stay on topic but you might have to deal with an occasional picture of me on the The Great Wall or a rant about a stock I’m buying at the moment.

About Me

My name is Wayne Mulligan.  I was the Founder/CEO of TickerHound.com - a Knowledge Exchange where individual investors get answers to their finance & investing questions.  After securing a number of white-label strategic partnerships with other finance sites, the company was acquired by one of our partners, Tycoon Publishing, in the Summer of 2009.

I’m now in charge of Web Products at Tycoon and working with an amazing team to build and evolve their portfolio of online education courses.

Thanks for visiting and if you need to get in touch with me, your best bet is to hit me up on twitter @WayneMulligan.
